Waffles from Scratch

Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten

Method
 

  1. Spray both surfaces of your waffle iron, and preheat according to manufacturer’s directions.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a medium sized bowl.
  3. Add milk, oil and eggs and stir until combined but still slightly lumpy.
  4. Slightly underfill your preheated waffle grill, and close the lid. The waffle will expand as it cooks and fill the rest of the space.
  5. Cook until the waffle is light golden brown, or until your waffle iron indicates the waffle is done.
  6. To serve, top with butter, syrup, jam, fresh fruit, whipped topping, honey, Nutella, yogurt, or whatever else you like.
