Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
  

  • 5 lbs. Russet potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Slow cooker

Method
 

  1. Peel potatoes and cut them into cubes, about ½ to 1 inch each.
  2. Place cubes in a slow cooker and cover with water
  3. Cook on high for about 4 hours, or low for about 7 hours.
  4. It’s OK to leave fully cooked potatoes on “warm” until shortly before serving, up to 2 hours.
  5. Check that the potatoes are fully cooked, then drain the water.
  6. Add butter, milk, salt and pepper.
  7. Turn the slow cooker off. Mash with a potato masher right in the slow cooker. Add more salt and pepper if needed.
